about the artist

I received a BA in Modern Literature from The University of California at Santa Cruz. I completed the Graduate Bench Jeweler program at New Approach School for Jewelers in Virginia. I've been working at the bench for about 4 years... 3 of them spent at my current place of employment. I currently work as a goldsmith's apprentice in a retail jewelry store, but I hope to make the move to wholesale production, model making and design. My ultimate goal is to have my own production line. All of the work shown here was done while at my current place of employment. Most of these pieces were done as special orders, but a few of the pieces were intended as stock for the store. If you are interested in more details about the process of any of the pieces shown here, or if you would like to see my complete portfolio please email me.

2008 - Gents 50th Birthday Band

I hand fabricated this ring out of 14k white gold.  First I made a thin wide band and gave it a florentine finish.  Second I made a narrow thick band that would fit over the first band like a sleeve and then I cut that band in half; this gave me the side rails for the ring. I went on to hand fabricate:  two white gold bezels, one rose gold flower, one green gold leaf and the Roman numeral for fifty out of white gold.  I soldered the side rails onto the band and then evenly spaced and soldered all of the components around the band.  The last step was bezel setting one brown and one blue diamond.
